Creating a Collaborative Economy Workshop:Mutual Aid Networks

What if everyone had the opportunity to build their skills to use their maximum capabilities and apply them to making their communities whole and beautiful?

Stephanie Rearick,  founder of the Dane County Timebank and founder of Mutual Aid Networks, will help participants answer this question and learn how:

  • People can do the meaningful work they long to do and be compensated for it.
  • To design and implement social, legal and economic frameworks that can really support social change agents and their projects.
  •  Mutual Aid Networks can redesign work and compensation to build a new economy
  • To apply these principles to empower organizations such as local Time Banks, Transition Town initiatives, ecology centers, social justice groups, intentional communities and faith based groups to be more relevant and effective.
  • To foster a culture of cooperation rather than competition among non-profits
  • To resolve and prevent conflicts to minimize infighting, gossip, and division
  • To create a pilot Mutual Aid Network in the Bay Area.

About Stephanie Rearick

Stephanie Rearick"I'm an independent musician, co-own a small neighborhood coffeehouse in Madison Wisconsin, and care about social, racial, economic and environmental justice. All of which require a completely different economy in order to thrive.

So I founded Dane County TimeBank in 2004 as an early step toward discovering how a healthy community economic ecosystem might look, and since then have worked with a huge rotating and growing cast of collaborators to create Mutual Aid Networks which has the purpose of redesigning the economy by redesigning work, starting with ourselves and our own networks."
